Eugene Applebaum - College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

Research

Wayne State University is designated as "Doctoral/Research University-extensive" by the Carnegie Foundation.  The Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, which houses the Physician Assistant Studies program, has worked very hard to promote medical research. The WSU Medical School also provides educational and clinical training support to the Physician Assistant Studies program faculty and students. This enables the program to be part of the "cutting edge" aspects of medical research. The Wayne State University School of Medicine spends approximately $93 million annually on research, placing WSU in the top fifth of the country's 125 medical schools. Physician Assistant Studies program faculty have established themselves as productive researchers in this medical community and continue to develop new ways for PA's to contribute to the medical and education literature.
